Artist Speed Dating

Interactive project / performance

'Artist Speed Dating' is a project that brings together local artists, curators, community, citizens and exhibition visitors in the popular dating form. Speed dating is a formalized  matchmaking process or dating system whose purpose is to encourage people to meet a large number of new people, usually lovers or partners.
Following speed dating roles participants rotate to meet each other over a series of short "dates" lasting from 3 to 8 minutes depending on the number of artists and participants. At the end of each interval, participants are signalized to move on to the next table.
The aim of the project is to familiarize people, trough direct contact, with the cultural and political ideas coming from their local community.
Generally project is inspired by the process of  communication, introducing with others, recognizing between each other and presenting ourselves to the other which is reduced to scanning codes, generating sets of quick elimination questions, creating basic limited profile information. Through my work I want to investigate and detect how these processes affect the person's identity, their it's own perception and judgments of another. How does instant experiences affect the quality of life and communication.
